See The Beautifully Of Tulip Garden In Skagit Valley

Most of us know that Netherlands famous with tulip. Because of this flower so close with Dutch,it become make person does not actually believe that tulip isn’t native from Dutch. Tulip also not only in Netherlands, but tulip there are in  many country in the world.

Yeah…, when we was visited Rustem Pasha Mosque near the Spice Bazaar in Istanbul, we could find this flower. The mosque is small, but it is a jewel of architecture that can not be missed. This mosque was built by Mimar Sinan, a legendary architect who is designing so many buildings in the important period of  Sultan Agung Sulaeman.Rustem Pasha “only” the rich who are not noble. Therefore, when he intends to build the mosque, he is not allowed to build Minaret (tower). Then Rustem try to show that in reality is not less than the sultan.

Then Rustem told some art workers from Iznik to make special ceramics to cover the wall in the mosque. One of the design is ceramic with tulip flower picture.  This ceramics are very beautiful and there is no compare in Istanbul at that time. Has not been this old, original one-chip ceramic  from Rustem Pasha Mosque was go to the block by Sotheby’s and get 80,000 Pounds Sterling.

so why there is tulip flower picture on the wall of mosque in Istanbul? Why the image also can be found in the ceramic wall of Blue Mosque of Sultan Ahmad in Istanbul?

Tulip flower is native plant from Turkey.There is historical evidence that indicates that the tulips have been in Turkey since year 1000 BC, particularly in the around of Black Sea area. After Sultan Mehmet who the Turkey conqueror subduct in mid of 15th century, interest began to be planted tulips in the palace page. At the palace that is the European began to see the beautiful of tulips flowers are considered as high value.

Dutch know about tulip at 1593, after a botanic from Austria as big teacher at Leiden University.This Botanic have previously obtaining tulip seeds from Austria that was given by Turkish ambassador as a gift from the Sultan. At That time, Tulip is exclusive plant that only limited owned by the prince in Europe.

At the 7th century, tulip mania start at the Dutch. Various kind of new tulip pop up in Dutch. At that time, there is even competition that have gift big money for anyone who is able to preserve of black tulip.

Many centuries later, the Netherlands has left Turkey far behind in the matter of tulip. Tulip flower even become important trade commodities in Netherlands, while in Turkey remains the limited interest that exists among the patrician.

In the 1949, for the first time to held tulip exhibition at the Keukenhof in Holland. Keukenhof is the place to plant spices of kitchen garden  for the palace-castle kingdom. Up to now, Keukenhof is the most famous in the world to see the variety of tulip.

Because of tulip only  blooms in early spring, It was not long. Therefore, the Keukenhof is only open for about 6-8 weeks - from late March to early May. Every year, the date range, depending on the condition of the previous winter. The ticket price is quite expensive, about Rp 180 thousand. Millions of tourists visit to Keukenhof each year.

However,Keukenhof was not the only place to see a variety of tulip. In the Skagit Valley, about 100 kilometers north of Seattle, USA, already 25 years old this last festival, held tulip festival every year.

From the name we can guess that the Skagit Valley is the origin of Indian housing. This is fertile land, and 150 years since last used as a plantation. Interest began to agricultural commodities in this valley since 100 years ago.

In the early of 1950, the Dutch foreign start living in the Skagit Valley. They brought seeds and dairy cow tulip, and preserve it in the area. Until now, we can still see trail the Dutch-impressions of the names of tulip plantation and cattle breeding in the Skagit Valley, such as: Rozengaarde, De Goede, and so forth.

The famous of Keukenhof in Netherlands, it make tulip farmers in Skagit Valley also began organizing the first tulip festival in 1984. Unlike the Keukenhof, the Skagit Valley visitors are not being paid. People are free to “roam” in the area of 750 hectares to visit the individual tulip gardens. The owner was watching the race to create their own attraction to make the tourists visit to their garden.

Every-day bus tour and cars came to the Skagit. In a delivery, about a million people come to visit Skagit, see the beautifully tulip gardens with paving colorful light. In addition to tulips, daffodils are also many flowers planted in the Skagit.

Another way to enjoy the beauty of the Skagit is enjoy by plane with four seat which flying low above on the garden tulip are. Multicolored tulip flowers blooms at the same time is extraordinary scenery.

The visitor of tulip festival in Skagit Valley usually also  visit to a small city of La Conner, about 5 kilometers from the center of tulip garden. Located on the Pacific coast to create “villages” have this wonderful international reputation. Central city has antique shops, photo gallery, painting gallery, boutiques, restaurants, international hotels.

Thousands of tourists who every day come to La Conner after visited tulip festival, easily served by dozens of restaurants there. At least, there are six fine-dining restaurant in this small city. A city that seems a hundred percent living by tourism. Average income of La Conner is U.S. $ 45,000 each year.

Back to the tulip, now Istanbul also organized every year Tulip Festival. Across the city, especially along the road-edge, tulip flowers beautifully are blooms. Turkey presumably want to increase their reputation of tulips in the world.
